Views on the availability of educational opportunities, feelings about the range available and about their own education and training.

Findings

Yemen (67.2) and Qatar (67.2) record the highest access; Tunisia (25.3) and Morocco (33.1) the lowest. Tunisia also records the lowest experience (38.7) and the lowest domain score in the sample (32.0). Kuwait records high access (57.8) with low experience (42.0).

The domain moves against the index (r = −0.48): the states that score highest overall tend to score low on education.

What the gap may indicate (inference, not measured)Access scores reflect the qualifications and training of respondents, who are non-probability samples; the high score of Yemen is a statement about respondents, not about the education system. Where access is high and experience low, relevance and quality are plausible explanations; the survey does not test them.

Administrative implicationEducation ministries can report satisfaction and relevance alongside enrolment and completion, and read access scores against the composition of the sample.
